This 4 days Bhutan tour is our shortest tour covering Paro and Thimphu. The highlight of this 4 days Bhutan tour is the two hour hike to the Tiger’s nest monastery which is a World Heritage site. We also visit the Rimpung Dzong built in 1646, the tallest statue of Sitting Buddha (51.5 m), the Tashichho Dzong, the Royal Secretariat and many others. If you do not wish to visit Thimphu, then you can make an excursion to the beautiful Chele La Pass (3820 m) on the way to Haa valley.

Sketch Itinerary for 4 Days Bhutan Tour:

Day 1: Arrive Paro (Altitude 2280 m) – Thimphu (2320 m) (54 kms. – 1 hour drive):

You will be received by the Representative from Yak Holidays at the airport and drive to Thimphu.

On the way, view Tamchog Monastery built by Thangthong Gyalpo in 1420

After lunch, visit to:

  • The Memorial chorten dedicated to the 3rd King of Bhutan, Late Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  • Folk Heritage Museum.
  • Painting School.
  • Craft Bazaar.

In the evening,

  • Visit to the Tashichho Dzong, the Royal Secretariat.
  • Free to stroll in the town.

Dinner and over night in Hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing (Altitude 2320 m) – Paro: (Altitude 2280 m) (54 km, 1 hr):


Tallest statue of sitting Buddha in the world (51.5 m).

After breakfast, visit to:

  • National Postal Museum, where you can make a personalized stamps.
  • Tallest statue of sitting Buddha in the world (51.5 m).
  • Changangkha Monastery built in 13th century by Phajo Drugom Shigpo.
  • Takin Preserve centre.
  • Sangay Gang view point.
  • After lunch, drive to Paro and visit:
  • Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower converted to the national museum of Bhutan.
  • The Rimpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 3: Paro Sightseeing (Altitude 2280 m):


Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest)

After breakfast, hike to the Taktsang Monastery or the Tiger’s Nest.

After lunch, visit to:

  • Drukgyal Dzong built in 1647 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, father.
  • Visit Kichu Lhakhang, built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo.

In the evening, free in the town for shopping and photography.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 4: Departure:

After breakfast, drive to the Airport and Farewell.
