This 5 days Bhutan tour is one of the short tour with day excursion to Punakha. This 5 days Bhutan tour covers 3 districts in western Bhutan viz. Paro, Thimphu and Punakha. The Besides the sightseeing highlights in Thimphu and Paro, we visit the beautiful Dochu La Pass (3100 m) with 108 stupas on the way to Punakha, Chimi Lhakhang or the temple of Fertility and Punakha Dzong. Day 1: Arrive at Paro – Thimphu (Altitude 2320 m) (58 km, 1 hr):

Meet and Greet at the Paro airport and drive to Thimphu.

On the way, view Tamchog Monastery built by Thangthong Gyalpo in the 15th century.

After lunch, visit to:

  • The National Memorial Chorten, a monument dedicated to the Third King of Bhutan.

In the evening, visit to:

  • The Tashichho Dzong, the Royal Secretariat and the seat of Central Monastic Body.
  • Free to stroll in the town.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 2: Thimphu (Altitude 2320 m) – Punakha (1310 m) (76 km, 2 ½ hrs):

After breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, visit:

In the evening, drive back to Thimphu.

  • Changangkha Lhakhang built in the 13th century by Phajo Drugom Shigpo.

After lunch, drive to Paro and visit to:

  • Ta Dzong or the National museum.
  • Rinpung Dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Day 04. Paro – hike to the Tiger’s Nest (Altitude 2280 m):

  • Hike to the Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang Monastery).

 NB: You can hoist prayer flags near the Tiger’s Nest, and offer prayers inside the monastery.

After lunch, visit to:

  • Drukgyal Dzong built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1647.
  • Kichu monastery built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king, Srongsen Gampo.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 5: Departure:

After breakfast, drive to the Airport and Farewell.
