Tour overview
This scenic trek can be started from three different points, though the most recommended route begins from Sang Choekhor Monastery in Shari. The trail winds through serene pine forests and offers breathtaking views of the Paro Valley. One of the highlights of the trek is witnessing the stunning sunset over the hills of Haa, creating a truly romantic and peaceful atmosphere. Trekkers can also enjoy a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) and the sacred chapels surrounding it. The area is home to three sky burial sites believed to have been blessed by Guru Rinpoche.
At Bumdra campsite, visitors can choose to hike to a nearby sky burial site, try traditional Bhutanese archery or Khuru (dart game), or simply relax amidst the tranquil surroundings. The trek also offers exceptional photography opportunities, especially for nature lovers and those passionate about capturing beautiful landscapes.
